Message from Mr. Wampler

I hope that this message finds everyone safe.  Keeping our students safe has and will continue to be at the forefront in every decision we make.  As you know, we are in the process of making decisions on how to bring this school year to a close.  We are excited about getting back to some level of normalcy in the future.  We are also very sad, having lost critical instructional time with our students.  However, we will remain positive and continue to work hard in supporting our students through the educational process.

  • Our teachers have completed our final Instructional Packet for this year and that packet will be available on Monday, April 27th.  This packet can be picked up between the hours of 9:00-11:00 or 1:00-3:00 on Monday.  Those times are available to ease the traffic during our breakfast/lunch distribution from 11:30-12:30. If you are taking part in our lunch distribution, we will likely be able to exchange packets at that time as well.  We have also placed two containers at our front door for student work drop off.  One container is for K-3 work and the other s for grade 3-5 work.  Please make sure the work is easily identifiable.
  • We will schedule a day per grade level to return and pick up property at HME.  More information will be shared as this process is clearly defined.  If HME yearbooks have arrived by that time, we will push those out as well.  We have 26 yearbooks available.  Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing one of those at a first come, first served basis.  (895-0833)
  • We are discussing if and how we might be able to safely celebrate the accomplishments of our students throughout this year.  We are very proud of all our students and their accomplishments are definitely a reason for celebration.

In closing, I encourage you to take part in every instructional opportunity available with your child.  This situation has proven that we need to have the capability to communicate, disperse and collect instructional work online.  I believe that HME will be moving in that direction, so we need to have accurate data from you if that is not an option for you right now.  Have a great evening!
